Mentors and Supporters

Our Mentors:

SNQ is a vibrant group of original artists at various stages of their careers, coming together to enhance the experience of music for all, enjoying the fun and excitement of sharing their music with each other and their audiences.  Part of the vision and goal of SNQ is to offer a platform for live gigs, networking opportunities and the advancement of careers where possible through those who have more established careers and willing to offer help, support, advice and encouragement.

As the journey unfolds, I continue to find wonderful people who are willing to give back to the local music community by engaging with our groups at Industry Nights and other workshop programs that are still in the creation process.   Our mentors are inspirational artists giving their time and talents to our group members just because they want to – and we are thrilled to have some wonderful people on board so far…

Sean O’Boyle – Patron

The most prolific composer in the country, with more albums to his credit that Slim Dusty – and that’s saying something! – is our patron here at SNQ.  And even though he has jetted off overseas with lovely new wife and co-patron Suzanne Compass, Sean sends his love and support to all SNQ members and is sure to visit our group when back in Oz…  thanks Sean!!

Michael Fix

Michael Fix was our very first Mentor, speaking and playing at Industry Night #1 on July 29th – what a wonderful, talented, engaging artist who shared his music, his story and even jammed on stage with some of our performers… Michael is one of the most gifted guitarists I have seen live on stage and he spoke with such passion about his life, journey, music, success and the things that made his career.  He was so open to share his stories and how he worked his way to the place he is now, and how he enjoyed sharing his journey with like minded folk willing to hang on his every word.   Michael on myspace

Russell Bayne

Russell Bayne is a strong support of SNQ and is also my music partner and lead guitarist for my band.  I asked Russell to join us as guest artist for Industry Night #2 as I have never met anyone else with amount of talent, experience and heart – a real gentleman of music with a wealth of information, advice and support for all our members.

Phil Graham

Dr Phil Graham heads up the Creative Industries and Innovation over at QUT, and as a celebrated artists, composer and obviously clever bloke, Phil has joined the line up of original artists for SNQ, having spent so much time recently working in the intellectual side of music.  We coaxed him out of the office and onto the stage and WOW!, what a guy…  He will present and play alongside Russell at Industry Night  #2 on 30th September….

Our Supporters:

SNQ thanks all those who donate their time and effort for the development of our group, and as a thank you, I  have listed the links of our supporters – please be sure to visit their websites and use their services if possible!!  Together we are stronger!
